Our history

It all started in 1990

The concept of System Cleaners was conceived back in the late 1980’s. After meticulous planning, System Cleaners was finally founded in 1990 by five entrepreneurs in the Aalborg region, Denmark. From the very beginning the mission was to supply the food and beverage industry with cleaning solutions using the best cleaning technology, low-pressure with boosted water. And always with the customer at the centre.

In the early 1990’s, one man was driving across Europe with a demo kit in the back of the van, knocking on doors to show what our cleaning systems could do. And it paid off.

Our distributor and customer network expanded, and in 2006 we established a sales office in Kansas City, USA. In 2011, we were ready to go east as well and a sales office in Hanoi, Vietnam was established. Throughout the years, System Cleaners has experienced a steady growth in the number of employees at headquarters in Denmark as well as with the addition of Regional Sales Managers based in South Carolina in the US, Germany and the UK.

We are now represented in more than 100 countries through them and our extensive distributor network.

In 2021, the Swedish company AxFlow acquired the majority holding of System Cleaners. AxFlow is a well-known brand on the European market with values matching those of System Cleaners, and the foundation for the continued development of System Cleaners became even stronger with this acquisition.

AxFlow has 30 years of experience in the European food and beverage industry and a strong presence in Europe, making it a fantastic, long-term strategic partner for System Cleaners. Synergies between the companies under the AxFlow umbrella enable us to offer our partners and customers an even stronger network in terms of sales and service.

Through dedication, hard work and continuous development, System Cleaners has become one of the global leading suppliers of state-of-the-art open plant cleaning solutions to top brands in the food and beverage industry. We not only supply processors with high-quality cleaning equipment; we also offer advice on the optimal application of it to achieve the best cleaning result.

And we continue to evolve and so do our cleaning solutions. Technological innovation paves the way for better cleaning systems, and demographic changes, stricter legislation, and consumer trends affect the way processing plants prioritize hygiene and food safety. And we move with the changes by listening to and understanding the challenges that our customers face and offer our advice on the optimal cleaning solution for each one of them.

Our core DNA is still the same

Applying low-pressure technology with boosted water in our cleaning solutions will always be at the core of what we do.
But the application possibilities expand, and our technological innovation continues.

And as it was back in 1990: with the customer at the centre.
